California Department of Transportation (Caltrans)

Caltrans employs more than 20,000 people and has an a $9 billion annual budget statewide. The agency is responsible for the design, construction, maintenance and operation of the new East Span of the San Francisco-Oakland Bay Bridge. This $2.6 billion seismic safety project is the centerpiece of Caltrans' massive toll bridge program in the Bay Area.
